Description Maria Sibylla Merian was a fine painter and superb naturalist, one of the first woman scientists we know of. Her observations of insects and their relationships with plants revolutionized botany and zoology. She studied and painted flora and insects which were instrumental to or attracted by a particular genus. Primula and catepillar is a great example of her talent, as well as understanding of nature’s relationships. Kit includes a 9″ x 13″ mono deluxe needlepoint canvas.
