Verdil is a rare Valencian variety almost single-handedly rescued by Bodegas Enguera – and what a charmer! Quite weighty, broad and aromatic with ripe green apple fruit. A Gold Medal Winner at Mundus Vini 2011, the judges’ description was: “intense fruit nose with loads of yellow fruit, kiwi, delicate floral hints, lightly spicy notes, stunningly round and harmonious”. We would say that’s still accurate all these years later!
